Hannity Speaks with the Troops

If you didn't catch Hannity and Colmes tonight, you should definatly take a look at this Hannity and Colmes Segment.In an inpromptu conversation with a group of the troops, us viewers are allowed to hear directly from the troops about what actually happening over there in Iraq. Here are some of the points the soldiers touched on:

-The wishy washy intellecuals claiming that they support the troops,but in reality they do not, are just undermining the efforts of the troops.
-The only place we are losing this war is here in the U.S.
-The people serving are NOT dupped into joining the military.
-This war is not about getting out as fast as possible, it's about finishing the job.
-We ARE making progress despite what the liberals want you to think.
-The Iraqi trainees are already helping out and starting to be self-sufficient.
-The Sunnis and Shia are working together to create security.
-We shouldn't look for instant gratification in this venture, we won't know that we've won for many more years.
-If we keep to it, we WILL win.

The Iraq Study Group

I know it has been said before, but I would like to reiterate it; the Iraq Study Group was plan to get out of Iraq rather than win. If the goal is to get out as soon as possible, we have completely lost sight of our mission. If that becomes our goal, we will have made the gravest mistake possible. Jonah Goldberg gives a nice summary of the findings of the report:

"Some people want more troops in Iraq, so it calls for some more troops at first — so as to better train the Iraqis. And then, because other people want far fewer troops, it calls for a timetable for far fewer troops by 2008. Because no foreign policy commission could ever be complete without blaming the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for something, the group throws a bone to that crowd as well. And because Baker thinks everything is a negotiation, he sees nothing wrong with chatting up everyone — including terrorist militias and our enemies in Iran and Syria."

One of the most disturbing things about this report is that instead of placing the focus on whether or not it gives us a path to win, all of the attention is on the fact that it was a bipartisan effort. Oh, great, all of the members agreed that Iran should stop giving Iraq arms, how profound. I think that everyone could figure that one out without having to ask a bipartisan panel. Who cares if five republicans and five democrats agree, as Dennis Prager always says, clarity is more important than agreement. This is what Danielle Pletka, a vice president of the American Enterprise Institute, had to say on the report:

"It was about as interesting as a small-town phone book, I was amazed by the report. There were very few concrete suggestions. There were very few deep ideas. And there were very, very few plans for victory."

I don't think there is much more to say, the issue here is if you think the most important thing is to get out of Iraq, or to win in Iraq.

Assad's Syria: Time for a Change of Course? (Part 2)

Here, a strategy change with regards to Syria may be in order. The Bush administration, at the behest of its war hawks, has continued to isolate the Syrian administration under Assad, and prosecuted them as an ally in terrorism. However, recent calls from Israel, Britain, and important Middle Eastern allies have brought the possibility for cooperation back to the forefront. A recent New York Sun article explicates this new potential relationship. Assad, backed by American allies, has called for American cooperation and negotiations. Now, more than ever, is the time to establish a working relationship with Syria, not only to reduce Iran's geopolitical influence, but also as an opportunity to smooth over religious, sectarian tensions.

Such a strategy of engagement is a crucial part of any successful strategy in the Middle East, especially one which seeks to prevent Iranian ascension in the region. According to Jim Lobe, Syria remains the lynchpin of the Middle Eastern geopolitical equation (while this article was posted on antiwar.com, Lobe is legitimate, as a senior editor for the Inter Press Service). Cooperation with Syria would have several benefits:

Hezbollah and other Shia' Extremism: Iranian influence in Syria's day to day operations, and close ties with the Assad administration have allowed it to continue to successfully support the Hezbollah terrorist organization, the primary agitator in the this summer's war. Cooperation from Syria would both reduce cooperation between Syria and Iran, allowing a more effective crackdown on Hezbollah. It would also reduce Iranian influence in the western portion of the Middle East, likewise undermining radical Shi'ism.
Iraqi Stabilization: Syrian cooperation with the United States would help to foster cooperation over Iraq, especially with regard to their mutual border. Cracking down on this gateway for terrorist transportation would have the duel effect of undermining a terrorist logistical boon, as well as reducing the mobility of the insurgency. The second effect, (one which is not lost on the current Iraq Study Group) is the effect such cooperation would have on the Sunni militant insurgency in Iraq. By working with Syria, and the relatively Moderate Assad administration, the United States would have a better shot at cooperating with the insurgency groups, allowing for the formation of a legitimate coalition government.
Israeli Peace Process: Syria and Israel remain two of the major players in the Middle Eastern Peace Process, especially with regards to the terrorist attacks coming from Hamas's Palestine. Syrian-Israeli-American cooperation (or at least diplomacy) would ease tensions over the Golan Heights, reduce terrorism (see Hezbollah), and isolate the Hamas movement. These factors would help to facilitate Israeli-Palestinian peace, and at very least to isolate Hamas diplomatically and logistically.

These benefits help both to smooth over sectarian troubles in the Middle East, but also to reduce Iranian geopolitical clout, helping to maintain the stability of the region.

Critics claim that engagement with the Syrian regime will only help to support/legitimize the current Assad regime which has been a supporter of terrorism, and has suppressed local democracy movements, and that a hard line which isolates Syria would be preferable, leading to regime change. This relies however, on a false premise. Namely, that the Syrian administration is on unstable political footing. However, this is simply not the case. American attempts to isolate Syria have resulted in strengthening Syrian dictatorship, as Syrian leadership no longer relied on western aid, but was able to support itself through the help of others such as Iran, allowing for continued despotic control. Additionally, this connection to Iran, not the administration itself, is more to blame for Hezbollah terrorism, thus cooperation would be preferable to competition.

On both sides of the spectrum, left and right, the goals remain the same. Stabilize Iraq, prevent Iranian control of the region, prevent the spread of radical terrorism, and secure peace for Israel and Palestine. And as far as Syria policy is regarded, the only real opportunity for positive change lies with engagement with Assad's regime. In all truth, only one option remains tenable.

The possibility for change always remains on the table. Unfortunately, it is our administration, rather than Assad's which the barrier to change remains. American military, economic, and political power makes us a more attractive ally, one which can satisfy their needs more effectively. Moreover, Syria fears Iran's radical Shi'ism just as much as all of the other Sunni regimes in the region, and their alliance with the Iranians has been a convenient one rather than a tactical one.

Is it time for a change in the course? Absolutely!

Assad's Syria: Time for a Change of Course? (Part 1)

The war in Iraq has shattered the old geopolitical orthodoxy in the Middle East, and out of the ruins Iran led by the Mullahs has stepped up, presenting a grave threat to regional stability. With the belligerence of Iranian president Ahmadinejhad toward American regional allies, primarily Iraq and Israel, our main concern in the Middle East is not simply maintaining stability within Iraq, but also containing Iran and ensuring the radical Shi'ism endorsed by its leaders remains in check. With this goal in mind, foreign policy scholars have isolated two primary routes to this goal.

The first way to balance Iran is the stabilization of Iraq, primarily with regards to the secular conflict which claims thousands of lives each month. An important note with regards to the secular breakdown of Iraq is the split between Sunni's and the Shia which is where most of the violence begins. While most of the Middle East is led by Sunni leaders, Iran remains the largest (and only) Middle Eastern nation controlled by Shi'ite politicians.

The implications of this religious division of the Middle East are profound, as American allies around the Middle East are confronted with increasingly belligerent Shia populations, sponsored in large part by the Iranian administration. Robbins, a senior policy fellow from the conservative American Enterprise Institute, demonstrates in "Let’s Be Friends with Syria" that this split between Sunni and Shia is so wide, that Iranian doctrine holds that the Sunni's must be killed, holding the position of an 'Apostate', a Muslim who believes in Sunni doctrine. These Apostates are (in the minds of the radical Mullahs in charge) worthy of death, because unlike Christians and Jews, they are not simply 'deluded', but they OUGHT to know better. This divide between Sunni and Shia has been exacerbated by the instability in Iraq, and Iran's main strength outside of its borders has been its ability to exploit this shift to destabilize its neighbors.

Therefore, a key part of the American strategy in Iraq must be to ensure Sunni integration into the political process (with many Sunni's creating the foundation of the insurgency against Iraq's Shia majority). Without their participation, it is unlikely that any truly effective coalition government can prevent escalation of secular violence, and create a major counterbalancing force to Iran's growing strength. It is for this reason that many scholars on the conflict have suggested that the United States actively pursue a stronger relationship with Iraqi Sunni communities, regional Sunni allies, and Sunni militant groups.

The second approach is entirely geopolitical in its nature, splintering Iran's regional coalition, and isolating it diplomatically. While Iran maintains close ties with many nations, two remain the most important in the Middle East's balance of power. The first nation is Russia, with its strong ties to the development of Iranian petroleum and nuclear energy reserves, their aid has allowed Iranians to develop their nuclear program, and modernize their military forces. The second nation is Syria, whose leadership under president Assad has found itself diplomatically and politically isolated from regional powers. Despite its strong Sunni majority, and opposition to Shia expansionism, Syria has found itself FORCED into a stance supporting Iranian military strength.

Syria in particular is important in this regard. The Hezbollah terrorist organization, infamous for its war of terror against Israel this last July, receives most of its monetary and logistical support from the Shia leadership of Iran. This terrorist organization is just one example of Iranian extended influence in the region, spreading and exacerbating the conflict between Sunni and Shia Muslims in the western Middle East. Syria's support of Iranian political doctrine has also allowed Iran to help block Israel from exerting its influence farther east, and has continued to prevent the stabilization of the region, particularly with regard to Iraq. Finally, Syria's connections with Iran have fostered the creation of a terror-friendly border between Syria and Iraq, fueling the insurgency movement. Clearly, Syria's geo-political alignment with Iran has been problematic for the region, and for American regional interests.

I'd give his credentials, but the thought of someone hunting him down with that information is in the back of my mind. Actually, I just hope we have enough readers for some of them to get fuming mad at what we say, but who knows, maybe we do.

Now here is a republican who the democrats could deal with: Rudy Giuliani. He has began the process of becoming a Presidential Candidate. Not only could the democrats handle him, I think that republicans would back him enthusiastically also.

"The former mayor filed papers to create the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Exploratory Committee, Inc., creating a panel that would allow him to raise money for a White House run and travel the country."

I think it's funny that as soon as the midterm election passes, everybody (including me) is talking about the next presidential election. But I guess even after the last presidential election people were talking about Condi versus Hillary for prez. It's all one big campaign.

A new perspective in Iraq may be a good thing, but I don't know if I want it to be the democrats' perspective. The purely anti-war mantra of the democrats is noble and all, but it could be dangerous for America. The hope I have came from an article by John Gibson. Although it may be a bit too "I told you so," it has a good point.

"That is for the Democrats to abandon their anti-war election rhetoric, recognize this is now their war to win too, and help President Bush and the Iraqis make this go quickly and go well."

Hopefully these polititians realize that now they have been elected to office, they can drop the campaign slogans and work to find a better solution than running from Iraq and "talking" to the terrorists. Terrorists don't compromise, and we shouldn't compromise with terrorists.

The Results

When I first realized that the republicans had lost the House, and now possibly the Senate, I was a little upset, but now that I think about it, it will be interesting to see how this pans out over the next few years. We can't win every election, so I'm not too worried in the long term; this is a good time for the republicans to regroup.

On a semi-related note, I found this little story and I found it very amusing:

While walking down the street one day, a U.S. senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies. His soul arrives in Heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
"Welcome to Heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in."
"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in Hell and one in Heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."
"Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in Heaven," says the senator.
"I'm sorry, but we have our rules."
And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down.
The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.
They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne. Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy. He has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.
The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on Heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.
"Now it's time to visit Heaven."
So, 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.
"Well, then, you've spent a day in Hell and another in Heaven. Now, choose your eternity."
The senator reflects for a minute, then he answers.
"Well, I would never have said it before. I mean Heaven has been delightful, but I think Iwould be better off in Hell."
So, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to Hell.
The doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags, as more trash falls from above. The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder.

"I don't understand," stammers the senator. "Yesterday, I was here and there was a golf course and a clubhouse and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, danced and had a great time. Now, it's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened"?
The devil looks at him, smiles and says, "Yesterday, we were campaigning. Today, you voted."

North Korea, Sorry?

I don’t know about this one. It seems kind of sketchy to me. Apparently Kim Jong-Il "expressed regret" about the nuclear test on October 9th; does that mean he’s sorry that it didn’t work? He also added that North Korea has no intention of attempting a second test.

“Meanwhile, tens of thousands of citizens and soldiers rallied Friday in the North Korean capital to cheer the nuclear test - the first known celebration directly tied to the explosion, according to North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency.”

That sounds just a bit contradictory; and that was on the same day Kim made his comments. I don’t really know what to make of this, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Bad News

Not only is the news that North Korea is planning on attempting a second Nuclear test unsettling, but it is also bad news. Bad news for the world and North Korea. They have no allies and even China is getting upset at little "high-heels" Kim Jong Il.

"The activity, started a number of days ago, included ground preparation at one site and construction of some buildings and other structures,"

This is the activity, coupled with insider information, officials translate to the conclusion that a second test may occur in the not-to-distant future.

High-Heels also claimed that the U.N. sanctions meant that they were declaring war on North Korea (Yeah right! When does the U.N. declare war on anyone?).

"The resolution cannot be construed otherwise than a declaration of a war,"

North Korea thinks that nuclear weapons would gain them respect, but the reality is that it lost them respect. Also, the childish statements they've made (like above), direct even more disdain toward the country. They are just digging a deeper hole for themselves.

Crazy Radical Lawyer

The story of Lynne Stewart is disgusting. She was a lawyer who was passing messages from her terrorist client to his "violent followers." Why? Why would someone do that? Who knows, she could have been the catalyst for the killings of innocent people. She has been convicted, but she has been granted the opportunity of staying free on bail until her appeal has been heard by higher courts.

I do think she should be punished, not because I think she will do it again, but out of principle. She committed a serious crime, and she has to face the repercussions. The defense presented her "recent bout with cancer" as reason not to punish her, but terrorism is a serious issue, and she should have thought about the consequences before she consciously aided the terrorist.

“This is a great victory against an overreaching government,” Ms. Stewart said, returning to her familiar feisty rhetoric, as she was embraced by her husband, Ralph Poynter, and her three grandchildren. “I hope the government realizes their error, because I am back out,” she said. “And I am staying out until after an appeal that I hope will vindicate me, that I hope will make me back into the lawyer that I was.”

I'm sorry, but I fail to see the victory and the only error is being to soft on her. She should not be allowed to practice law and she should face the consequences.

What We Should Be Hearing

Why doesn't the media cover stories like this, instead of portraying Iraq as not making any progress toward being self-sufficient. Iraqi soldiers are graduating boot camp at a steady rate; a new group starts their cycle of training every six weeks, and they are graduating by the hundreds (the goal is to graduate 1,850 Iraqis per class).

“The sooner the new Iraqi Army comes on board, the sooner our mission will be complete,” said Primm, 35, from Mobile, Ala. “That’ll pay dividends across the board, both for the U.S. and the Iraqi population."

This is the real way to get out of Iraq. Yes, sometimes it does seem painful and unnecessary, but in the end it is worth it; we cannot successfully force our way out, we leave when it is time to leave.

Here's another example of the extreme Political Correctness that plagues the world. I'm very anti-PC so when I saw the following story, I couldn't believe my eyes; in parts of Wales now, police dogs are being muzzled to stop them from biting criminals.

"it is another example of political correctness gone mad - putting the rights and safety of criminals before cutting crime and protecting the public."

The official reason the police department cites is to protect the the P.D. from lawsuits of the criminals who were injured as a result of a dog attack. But I think a more reasonable response is to take a look at the lawsuits, if the criminals are victorious, rather than the department itself.

I guess for me, the only comforting thought is that at least this isn't happening in the U.S. Every time I see one of the PC absurdities, I cringe. I can only hope that the people condoning political correctness start to catch a glimpse of how ridiculous and bogus it is becoming.

"Air America Radio, a liberal talk and news radio network that features the comedian Al Franken, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, a network official told The AP."

It was never, and will never be as popular or successful as conservative talk radio: it was only a matter of time.

Good Thing...

Good thing this guy was caught. Dhiren Barot was planning quite an attack. He just pleaded guilty to plotting a terrorist attack on World Bank and International Monetary Fund based in Washington, the New York Stock Exchange, and the Citigroup and Prudential buildings. He planned to "to kill 'as many innocent people as possible' by blowing up some of the world's largest financial institutions."

He also described a parallel scheme that was to be carried out as well.

"The radiation dirty bomb project was not intended to kill but rather to carry out the objectives I referred to:, injury, fear, terror and chaos."

"The radiation project was designed among other things to affect some 500 people."

I cannot imagine the justification this line thinking would need. I'm just glad that justice is being served, and that Scotland Yard picked up this psycho before his conspiracy could be carried out. At least someone is watching America's back.

It's Been a Long Time

It's been a long time! Almost a year and a half, wow. Anyway, I'm back, but that doesn't mean that I will be updating everyday; I'm now a senior in high school, and that means a lot of work for applying to colleges.

A few days ago, I stumbled upon my blog, and since then I have been reading my posts nonstop. It reminded me of how much I actually enjoyed blogging. This is my first returning post.

About the same time I discovered my page, my father e-mailed me an intriguing poem (many of you may have received it too). If any of you remember Judge Roy Moore, the one who was removed from his bench for displaying the Ten Commandments in his court room. Along with working to gain back the right of publicly acknowledging God, Judge Moore wrote this poem:

America the Beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine,
choosing to indulge their lusts,

I should have posted about this a while ago, but I just remembered it while talking to TokenYoungConservative.

It appears that John Kerry wasn't really the intellectual he was all cracked up to be.

"The transcript shows that Kerry's freshman-year average was 71. He scored a 61 in geology, a 63 and 68 in two history classes, and a 69 in political science. His top score was a 79, in another political science course. Another of his strongest efforts, a 77, came in French class.
Under Yale's grading system in effect at the time, grades between 90 and 100 equaled an A, 80-89 a B, 70-79 a C, 60 to 69 a D, and anything below that was a failing grade. In addition to Kerry's four D's in his freshman year, he received one D in his sophomore year."

So his freshman year he got 4 D's.

In a response to the release of his bad grades, he said:

"I always told my Dad that D stood for distinction,"

It would have been great to have a president with that rock-solid reasoning.

And if you are going to comment about how I am just attacking Kerry or that he already lost the election, don't bother. The only reason I insist on posting this is because democrats were so persistent on the "fact" that Kerry was the intellectual and Bush was dumb.

A Tribute to Ronald Reagan

He was a great American. He had a magnificent sense of American pride, and had an aura of optimism. Not only was Ronald Reagan a great president, but he was also a great american.

Ronald Reagan died today, one year ago. That is why I am writing this.

He brought back to the U.S. its pride. Something that had gone away during the Carter years.

He brought back a booming economy.

He brought down the Soviet Union.

He understood the problem with government, that it was to large.

He understood that the American people needed a real leader, and he gave them one.

He understood that the American people wanted his Four Pillars of Freedom: individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy and national pride, and he delivered.

When I hear his voice, or see his face, I am reminded that I live in the best nation on the planet. I am comforted that there are leaders like him, and that soon, we may have another one.

"Always remember that you are Americans, and it is your birthright to dream great dreams in this sweet and blessed land, truly the greatest, freest, strongest nation on earth.”

Sorry once again for lack of posting. The end of the school year has been extremely busy with classes and sports, and I haven't had anytime to sit down to blog.

I PROMISE that I will post on June 5 for a very special occasion, and I hope some of you know what that is.

In the comments of one of the previous posts, I found a great example of how much effort liberals put into their research. This is what anonymous said:

"Still fighting for the *cough* capitalistic *cough* way? Generally if one wishes to be taken seriously one should try to avoid spelling and grammar errors. Especially when you are trying to sound intelligent. It is so typically Republican to ignore mistakes and deny that they were ever committed, denouncing reason and refusing to listen to anything that does not coincide with the beliefs that you've already established."

And this was, I assume, the same person, but this was his first comment on this:

"Whatever your beliefs, however erroneous, I would hope that you're fighting for truth, justice and the *cough* capitalist *cough* way. Heh heh heh. Nothing destroys your credibility like mis-spellings. Go illiteracy! Encouraged by yours truly GW, and the No Child Left Behind legislation."

Usually, when you attack someone for something they said, you might want have your facts straight. This was my response to his second comment:

"Do you really have so little to say that you attack a single word? And guess what, capitalistic IS A WORD! Just go here to find out:

But in case you are to lazy to type that in, here is the definition:

1. Of or relating to capitalism or capitalists.

2. Favoring or practicing capitalism: a capitalistic country.

Are you also too scared to leave an identity? I'm guessing that it was you who commented on this once before as anonymous, but I thought it wasn't deserving of a reply, so I didn't give one. This time I gave a reply and made you look like the idiot you are.

The amount effort you put into your researching reminds me of how much effort, or lack thereof, liberals put into their research."

This kind of thing happens to me all the time when debating the, in some cases loony, liberals at my school. I'm talking to them and I have them cornered. To wiggle out of the situation, they just make up some fact or circumstance. Out of the trust I have for them, trust that I have no reason to have, I accept what they say. Big mistake! Those days I go home and do some research on the topic of debate. Normally I can't find any statement remotely close to what they said. When I do find something close to what they said, the fact is spun to meet their agenda.

But in this case, I have a blog. You can't just say false statements and expect them to stand. I can fact check you in front of anyone who cares. When you are in any type of
media, you have to watch what you say, but liberals never seem to learn.

Teaching is another career dominated by liberals. It is extremely noticeable in the classes of: history, social studies, art, and sometimes music. But would you ever think health? I didn't until earlier this week.

Here we are in our cancer unit, and one day at the beginning of the hour, the dastardly deed occurs. He puts a video tape in the VCR and says that it has nothing to do with the unit we're in, but no further explanation is given. He presses play, and a clip from one of the late night shows comes on. It is showing George W. Bush giving a speech, and there is a kid standing behind and to the side of him. There is a big arrow indicating that we are supposed to watch him. He starts yawning, looking bored, looking at his watch, and other such disrespectful acts. This clip goes on a minute or two, and when it is done, my teacher doesn't say anything more except that he thought it was funny and that he thought we should see it.

He was obviously showing this to rip on the, twice, elected President, in a place where he had no such reason to. It's months after the election and they are still campaigning for Kerry. I don't understand liberals, I truly don't.

The democrats are now backing Rob "Meat-head" Reiner to run for California governor's office in 2006. They say:

"To survive in that new world, these Democrats say, the party must adjust." Says the website, Arnold Watch.

This is an effective technique, but personally, I don't think he can beat the governator.

Yes, I realize that this is semi-old news, but my family just happens to be watching "All in the Family," at the moment and it reminded me that Meat-head may run for governor. In addition to "All In The Family," I also love his movie "This is Spinal Tap" with a passion. It is one of the most funny movies of all time. If you haven't seen it, I strongly recommend that you do. I am in NO WAY supporting him politically, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he directed "This is Spinal Tap."

Diplomacy With Iran

Even though starting out with diplomacy is the right course of action, you have to be ready with a back-up plan. When you are talking with people who are determined to attain nuclear power, they may not want to submit to your terms. That doesn't mean that you should slacken up your terms.

"As part of Bush's second-term effort to repair ties with European allies, the White House agreed last month to support arms control negotiations that three European countries have begun with Iran. Those talks have not moved quickly, and Sharon argued that European negotiators may be softening their stance."

That is exactly why collaborating with our allies doesn't always turn out the tea party liberals try to convey it to be.

The U.S. needs to be ready with their "Plan-B." What that is, I don't know, but I may comment on what I think that plan should be over the weekend.

Why I'm Back Blogging

To tell you the truth, I was completely politically burnt out.

But over spring break, during a long car ride, I read "How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must)" by Ann Coulter. That got me motivated to revive this blog, but I took no action. Tonight, I ran across an article on Ann Coulter's web page and it inspired me to start blogging again.

Read this excerpt from the article, it'll be worth your while:

"In short order, Smith was reading aloud to Nichols from the Christian book "The Purpose Driven Life" — in direct violation of his constitutional right to never hear any reference to God, in public or private, for any purpose, ever, ever, ever! After reading the first paragraph of Chapter 33 aloud, about serving God by serving others, Nichols — the man pundits were calling an "animal" — asked her to read it again.

In the end, he is so moved that he surrendered peacefully to the police. That is what inspired me to start posting again. I realized words can have an affect on someone, and I hope in this new birth of A Youth's View From The Right, I can affect some of you.

Nuclear War Averted

This is to impart show Bush's foreign policy is a good idea, and why it was impossible and unneccessary to invade North Korea. The entirety of the impasse is the US unwilling to do 1 on 1 talks with North Korea because we did not want to be bullied around by their nuclear weapons. We wanted to show the world that they would not gain anything by building up nuclear weapon arsenals and threatening the United States.

In part, we stood strong to our principles and it looks like the issue is going to be resolved by using diplomacy from 6 involved countries.

Also, this is another reason we must push for the success of Democracy. A couple of years ago we did not think of North Korea as a threat to Japan or the United States. But, we forget, there is a dictator there, who suddenly did not allow inspectors in (does that sound like anyone we know?). Naturally I'm not advocating an invasion of all countries lead by a dictator, but this is one example of how it can go to far unless the people are in control.

I know it sounds odd and cheesy to tie this to Iraq, but I believe these two are close examples. Both examples of dictators who are not threats but have the definite potential to kill millions, just because Saddam did not have any nuclear weapons doesn't mean that he might not have created them. Iran is another example of how dictators are attempting to obtain nuclear weapons with the potential to kill millions of innocent people.

Add this to the list growing longer and longer of things that Bush has done right.

How Many Of These Stories Are There?

I think it really is time to look at our school system and ask "is this right?" It's so liberal, so anti-conservative. And here's another one of those stories.

A girl, Raven Furbert, was banned from wearing pro-militay, red white and blue, jewelry to school. Apparently, wearing red, white and blue to show your love for your country, is gang related, or at least the school claimed it was gang related. Bogus?!

These things need to be noticed, followed up on. Our school system is embarrassing in the way it suppresses free speech; it needs to be fixed. You'd think that liberals would jump at the chance to make free speech a legal thing, but in this case, because its conservatives that are being persecuted, liberals will just let it slide. Don't democrats claim that Republicans are the fascists?

Three Requests, Three Lawyers

It's been over a month since Les Moonves asked for the resignation of three of CBS's jounalists following the Rathergate scandal. Still, no one has resigned. In fact, all three have hired lawyers instead. One of the jounalists, Josh Howard, claims he just wants his name cleared before he resigns. It seemes like a bluff to me, and those over at Wizbang think so too. The three have been offered settlements, but all refused them.

How come they still haven't done anything to Rather? That is the question that keeps running through my mind, and sadly, it may never be answered accurately.

This is Going to Kill Us

Things like this could lead to the end of civilization.

Now it is illegal for parents to use "disciplinary smacks" in any form, including physical and emotional in the Netherlands. I'm certainly not for child abuse, but if they want their country filled with self-centered jerks with a need for instant gratification, than they are on the right track.

There are exceptions to every rule, but if you can't discipline children physically, or even emotionally, how are you supposed to hold them responsible or keep them in line? I say this as a teenager growing up around all types of kids; the most irresposible, thoughtless and selfish kids are the ones whose parents never discipline them. This is on average, like I said at the beginning of this paragraph, there are exceptions, but I know I wouldn't be a very good person if my parents didn't discipline me.

I hope this never happens in America. I, for one, don't want a country filled with self-centered jerks. [hat tip: Jack Lewis]

Flag Disrespect

Flag desecration, or flag burning, as protest, seemes to be one of the least intelligent forms of protest ever created.

The American Flag represents everything America stands for and America itself. It is the symbol of America, and when you burn it, it should be considered to be one in the same as burning America. If you live in the U.S., the chance that you've achieved what have because you are a resident of America is very high. Desecrating the flag is like desecrating everything you own.

If one feels as if they are permitted to desecrate the flag, they should also feel that they have no other choice but to leave this country. That is exactly what I propose they do, leave.

Freedom of Speech, or Freedom of Expression, is not an absolute right; blowing up a building in the name of Allah is not protected under the First Amendment. If the government wants to regulate what expression is permisable, it is perfectly reasonable.

Additionally, the government derives its "just powers from the consent of the governed." Therefore, the decision regarding the legality of flag burning should be in the hands of the people and their elected representatives, not appointed judges.

My Opinion on Gay Marriage

People are now slandering the bible and saying that it never says that marriage is only a man and a woman. Even if you want gay marriage, you can't argue with the fact that the Bible says only a man plus a woman equals marriage. Some liberals are offering money to those who can point out a place in the Bible where it says exclusively marriage can not be between people of the same sex. The offices of public figures that offered money for this were flooded with phone calls, e-mails, and some people even visited in person. Of course these people were all pointing out where the bible said no gay marriage, and although there are many, I think the clearest is:

"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." [Leviticus 20:13]"

Putting aside the fact that the Bible says that gay marriage is unholy, the main reason people oppose gay marriage is because of the Family and the children. The family is one of the most important structures in any society. In Scandinavian countries, where gay unions are legal, family life has disintegrated. Here is a great site full of the reasons why gay unions are not good for society. Check out the website, it's very in-depth.

Maybe I'll do my own post on why gay marriage is not good for society from the perspective of a teenager.

I would also like to add that no sane person thinks that gays are less human than straight people. Republicans are not "anti-gay" (as in thinking people that are gay are less human), but when you google "anti-gay," there is always republican in the same sentance as anti-gay, and that is not right.

I think it is time that we thank Ward Churchill.

Because of the current Ward Churchill controversy, the professors and Universities have been exposed.

Exposed is their left leaning tendencies and their oppression of all that is conservative. Ward Churchill has even drawn the eye of the MSM, and when the left is in the wrong, that is a significant feat.

The oppressive disposition toward conservatives at universities is finally being recognized. At Colorado University, the students in one class were assigned to compose an essay defending the statement: George Bush is a war criminal. One student failed the assignment because she wrote instead that Saddam Hussein is a war criminal. A multitude of stories like this one are coming out after the Ward Churchill case.

Republicans and other groups for free thought, like Students for Academic Freedom, are pushing the Academic Bill of Rights. This Bill of Rights does not lean right, but it does try to take away the left's monopoly of Universities and diversify the opinions on campus.

As a high school student, I think the Academic Bill of Rights would be a great thing. I am continually smothered with liberal propaganda without a chance to insert my opinion or prove it wrong. I can't even imagine what it would be like in a college. Anyone who reads the Academic Bill of Rights will be able to see that it is not a Republican document, but a document that more easially allows free speech on campuses.

To conclude, I would just like to thank Ward Churchill for helping bring out the issue of political oppression on campuses. What Churchill has done for us, the oppressed, may be the best thing for our cause.

A Necessary Risk

"Without risk there can be no reward."

In no place is this adage more true than in the current debate over Social Security reform. Much of the spin coming from the Democratic camp relates President Bush's "guaranteed gamble" with the national retirement trust fund. Barbara Boxer claims that "even if we did nothing, it would still have enough money in there to pay everyone 70 to 80 percent of benefits."

If this were to happen, it would be a disaster for our country. As the program now stands, seniors by no means receive bountiful amounts of cash in their monthly check, with an average of $18,888 paid to a retired couple, according to the Social Security Administration. Can the average, married senior live on only three-quarters of that sum?

The short and troubling answer is no. Action must be taken. Our nation cannot afford to resolve this desparately important issue at the sloth-like pace the Democrats are proposing. If our more liberal-leaning Representatives and Senators continue to spew propaganda through their colleagues in the mainstream media, Social Security will be bankrupt by 2042.

This is why privatization of Social Security is a neccessary process for our Legislative branch. There have been no other plans heretofor put forth with any measure of solvency regarding the reformation of FDR's 'temporary' program. As a young person, I want to retire in a country where I can be assured of receivng an income large enough to live on, and not see my hard-earned wages go towards a dying program. My fellow Americans, this is why we must fight with all our strength for the reform of Social Security.

The Cries for Gay Marriage: Part 1

I have something of a confession to make which my conservative friends berate me for whenever I bring it up and tell them my view, gay marriage. I am completely undecided on this issue, and if I listen to someone talk about it from either side my mind switches until the other side tells me their story and they I switch back. So, I'm going to give you reasons for and against it for both sides and then continue after I've sorted my mind out a little.

Pro Gay Marriage:
Sexual Freedom (or other kinds)
Discrimination (I don't buy this one, mostly fits above)
Fairness for whom you choose to be partenered with
Marriage is to be together forever and gay couples can do that and raise adoopted kids.

Against Gay Marriage:
1 Destroys sense of family
2 Raises kids in a worse home with only 1 gender of a parent
3 Marriage is intended to encourage family and while gay couples can adopt, they cannot have children of their own and thus expand the population (not really an issue anymore, but goes to why families are encouraged in the first place)
4 Destroys sanctity of marriage (of course, with 50% divorce rate it's mostly destroyed already)
5 Encourages homosexuality (it's best to be neutral about it, although.... it doesn't really encourage it at all, so this arguments pretty bad as well)
6 Leads to other marriages, most likely things such as brother sister (this is the strongest one I can think of next to what marriage is intended to be which is point 3 because inbreeding is very similar to homosexuality (can't have kids (can but they will be inbred nuts), against most social norms, etc.).

These are the best arguments I can think of. The fact is I don't believe that gay marriage is nearly as split as I am in America. It's true that there's a strong voice against it, but the common people seem to hate it. Tell me the reasons gay marriage is bad, because I believe that freedom in this country is good, and when in doubt go against regulation.

Then again, those of you who are for gay marriage need to tell me why it is imperative. How are the rights of gays being oppressed by not being able to say they're married to eachother? Why does it matter? Are the economic benefits that important that you cannot be married in your own minds? Is is recognition that homosexuality is ok?

I do, however, have an opinion on homosexuality. While it is unChristian, so is sex for any reason other than procreation, thus homosexuality is no different than premarital sex or sex with birth control. Homosexuality is unnatural, however. Ideally it would not exist. But, if people wish to be with others of the same sex, that is their choice and I should have no say as to whether it should be allowed or not. But, just because homosexuality is allowed to occur (which it obviously is) does not necessarily translate into marriage.

Marriage was/is intended for people to have a family. Period. There is no more. Because a gay couple may not have kids, they cannot have a family. There is a counterpoint to this, though, in that impotent men are still allowed to get married, so that points kind of mixed. There are so many arguments answering eachother back and contradictions being made in my mind, even as I write this post, I don't know what to do.

So, tell me what you think, you have your chance to give me excellent points and change my mind forever on the subject, after I've thought about it more I'll tell people what I think in Part 2 on this subject.

Too Funny

It's just way too funny that on top of the Clinton library there is an "Executive Suite" that Slick Willie plans on spending an average of one week every month at. He says he will have "old friends" there and I'm guessing that Hilary will be hundreds of miles away. He will just be ripped apart by the pundits and comedians on this one.

On a side note, apparently the library isn't getting as many visitors as predicted; it doesn't really surprise me.

Yeah right. Now in one county of california, you can go into the opposite gender's bathroom if you claim to feel like that gender on a particular day! For example if a man was to say that he was feeling like a woman today, he could use the women's restroom.

Proud to be a U.N.American

Have you ever had a good idea? Of course you have. Now, did that good idea tranlate you into doing something right, or did you attempt at achieving your goal and failed.

This is mostly a story about a little organization that was started by the United States early on and has failed to reach many of it's goals. This organization is the UN, and the idea is world peace and harmony.

I'm totally for world peace, and even a world organization, unfortunately, however the UN needs a little Redux before we get to that point.

Currently the UN has no force, has no power, and 5 EXTREMELY different nations with backwards goals have the power to stop the UN from doing anything. Let's assume, for a moment, that the UN has the capacity to Peacekeep and aid around the world. The UN, currently lacks the ability to do anything except for put troops to moderate conflict and to give aid to countries. To me, this seems rather limiting. They can either send Peacekeepers (much like private nations already could) and distribute money (much like nations already could), to me, it sounds redundant.

The UN has never stopped a major conflict from occurring. Korea still happened and was only organized by the UN because the Russian's walked out from the meeting and didn't have a chance to veto. The UN was against the Iraq II war but the US went in anyway. They didn't send troops in time for Rwanda, either. The simple fact remains, that the UN will not have power as long as the 5 seperate nations have veto power, and as long as the UN has no real central force guiding it other than politics between hundreds of bickering nations.

Like the League of Nations, the UN will be unable and is unable to enforce any of it's laws because of the politics involved (America gives the most to the UN) and a lack of any standing force that could be used without politics being involved on who is going to send what troops where. Currently, all the UN can do is get people to New York in order to discuss treaties and to tell the world what the major powers think everyone should do.

Good ideas like world organizations can lead to failures, but like the League of Nations, hopefully we can wait and learn from the failure of the UN in order to create a better international system with the ability to prevent major conflicts and actually stop continental wars (like Rwanda) from occurring. Or, perhaps that idea is flawed and a world organization would never occur. This, like many questions of my life, will remain unanswered. However, I do think one would be needed, at the very least to fulfill the capacity of the UN but in a more limited fashion, or at least one with the power to fulfill it's promises and enforce it's treaties.

Do you notice how democrats always start their speeches? "I was born and raised in (fill in the blank) and it was very unique growing up the way I did; let's throw a pity party for me. All of this makes me qualified to tell you what to do."

In his rebuttle, the senate minority leader, Harry Reid, basically said democrats believe this and that, republicans don't, so they are dumb and bringing America to its knees. He also made a few "jokes", but the only problem was: it wasn't funny. There is nothing worse than humor that isn't funny. I laugh at almost every joke, so if I didn't chuckle, you know you're in trouble.

Wow! Nancy Pelosi has had way too much Botox; her face doesn't move at all! It was the first time I have seen her on TV, and it was scary.

All in all, the democrats response to the State of the Union adress seemed to me vague and desperate. Very desperate.

Of 2 Party Systems and The Glory of Iraq

I know you all thought I was dead, but I'm not. In reality, I had to study for finals last week and was sick over the weekend, albeit with only a severe cold, and did not feel up to posting. However, an important event has occurred that I would like to comment on.

The Iraqis had a larger voter turnout than America! This proves that the majority of them want democracy, they don't want a tyrant running their country, THEY want to control the country and they will with our help.

After this tremendous success, the only way I believe one can argue against the war in Iraq is saying, "Bringing them a successful Democracy and saving hundreds of thousands of lives from death and oppression was not worth 400 billion dollars (in the end) and a thousand American deaths."
Granted a succcessful vote does not mean a successful democracy, but it certainly looks like it's going to be on the way.

I would now like to cover my feelings on the two party system that is present in America. Republican and Democrat.

I, for one, hate the way our country treats politics. When I was arguing with Zachary on an earlier post, he was trying to make arguments that Liberals have done better things in the past than Republicans. Do you think I care what some Republicans are advocating for and what they do? No. The only way any of these arguments make sense is if you're talking about a candidate I support. Furthermore, I've already stated I don't like Bush as much as I would a different candidate (not John Kerry by a long shot), so what use is it to make fun of some of his dumber policies.

The major problem I have with this Political System in the United States is for that reason. People saying stuff like "I hate Republicans" or "Democrats are always bickering" or whatever are simply stupid. I wish people never labeled themselves as Democratic or Republican, and instead just stated where they stand on issues. This already occurs with lots of Republicans voting Democratic and vice versa, but it almost never occurs when debating issues or when attempting to get bills passed. I do believe, though, that if we stop thinking of everything as Republicans ideas vs. Democratic ideas we will get farther in our goal of creating a more perfect society for the entire world to live in.

This is merely a change of thought that will alter how people think about subjects and compare people of the past. It's the feuding between the two parties that often makes accomplishing things very difficult, and that could occur less often if people don't think or speak in party terms and instead in ideological terms.

I just came across this realization: how come everybody outside of Iraq is surprised by the voter turnout and enthusiasm, but everybody on the ground in Iraq say, "Ohh yeah, I wasn't surprised but the voter turnout, the Iraqis are full of excitement and happy about the possibility of voting."

Maybe the media is even more biased than I previously thought. We hear of such negative things, but never the positive. I never thought is was going as bad as the "mainstream" media said, and this just confirms my belief.

For the Democratic Chair, Dean looks like he is doing better and better. Martin Frost just dropped out of the race. Don't count on the win from Dean, though, Dean was also looking pretty darn good to win the presidential nominee before Iowa.

I would love it if he won. Just like Dick Morris says, the farther left the democratic party moves, the less it gets elected (In case you were wondering, Dick Morris was the strategy behind Bill Clinton; moving toward the center for elections certainly worked well for Bill). I hope the democratic party moves farther to the left, because the country is moving farther to the right. Less competition, maybe more room for those nonexistant third parties.

With the huge success of the Iraqi elections, do you think that any of the democratic leadership is happy? I wouldn't bet on it. The huge voter turnout from every group in Iraq shows that George Bush's plan was a success. The exit strategy is success; the left has continuously been saying that we need a plan, but it is kind of hard to have a plan when fighting terrorists. They are unpredictable, we have to adapt and keep pushing along, which is exactly what we have done.

This is precisely the reason we are winning this war. This is the reason Baghdad's Mayor, Ali Fadel, said yesterday, "We will build a statue for Bush. He is the symbol of freedom." This is the reason the Iraqis are so happy, they have had huge parties, some still going, about the election, and they don't even know if the person they voted for won, they are partying because of the opportunity to vote.

Everything the President and our troops have been working for is finally coming true. The day that the Iraq Government can say, "Thanks, but we can handle it from here," is the day that we pull our troops out.

If we had an exit strategy and left before we things were stable, do you think the Iraqis would still be free, months or years after? Again, I wouldn't bet on it.

History 101, Looking at Ronald Reagan

Maybe when confronting terrorism, we should look to history to guide us to victory. One way to approach this is focusing on which president of modern time had the most effective and successful Foreign Policy. There's no doubt in my mind that this would be Ronald Reagan and his administration.

Ronald Reagan was the one that established, in recent times, the notion around the world that we would not crumble under pressure. His optimism about America and his strength when dealing with other nations was key. He took the offense against the Soviet Union. Everyone told him that being so forceful would lead to nuclear war with them. But he knew that if we looked like appeasers, we would eventually be forced to become appeasers. Look what happened, he destroyed Jimmy Carter in the election (an appeaser), and he destroyed the Soviet Union (who wanted appeasment from us). Backing down from the Soviet Union would have been disasterous for the people living there, and for the rest of the world. He told them to "Tear down that wall," and they did.

People told him that the Stratigic Defense Initiative would do more harm than good, but he saw that it was necessary to the well-being of the world, so he continued with it. Because of his policies of Peace Through Strength, we won the Cold War. All of this in the name of Freedom and Liberty.

Sound familiar? Hmmmm, kind of like what the Bush administration is doing now. We are taking a GREAT offense against the terrorists, and because of this, we haven't had a terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9-11. We have thrown al Qaeda into disarray, and we took a murderous dictator out of power.

For years the Clinton Administration left terrorist attacks unchecked, and our reputation for defending freedom and ourselves was in the toilet.

George W. Bush made us a force to be reckoned with once again.

Teddy Kennedy says something stupid. Today he said that Iraq is a failure and a continuing quagmire. Failure and quagmire as in they are having elections for the first time in five days? I can't believe he is still saying this stuff. It was even shown today that the groups that considered boycotting the election are planning to vote.

I would definately say Iraq is a failure; I would even go further to add that the Bush administration just went to war because they all have a sick, sexual, love of war. NOT!

I just remembered something that I wanted to say in the Pascal's Wager post but I had, at the time, forgotten. It is on the topic of where one would get his/her morals.

If you have no religion or are an Atheist, where would your set of values com from? From your heart? I think not, you can't just follow what you feel, that leads to things like the murdering of millions of babies and more atrocious things.

Even if you believed in an inncorrect religion, you would still probably have a good set of values (excepting satanism and the like); and even if you don't like the supernatural beliefs of a religion, you should at least understand that it leads to more moral people. In some studies, it has even been shown that the crime rate of religious people is far less than that of the non-religion, proportionatly.

Now if you still don't believe or agree with what I have just said, then think about this. Generally, human beings like to be comforted, and like to be shown the path; we like to think we know what is going on around us, and religion helps us with this. Overall, I'm glad the general population has something to believe in, something to be sure of. If we didn't have this, we would be a much different society.

In part of Pascal's Wager, Blaise Pascal says, basically , that it would be better to believe in God and have there be no God, than not believing in God and have there be God. Sounds perfectly logical to me.

I can understand having a strong faith in God, but how can you have that strong of faith in no god. Simple logic would lead you to understand and believe Pascal's Wager.

500 Tons of Uranium

I stumbled across this article while researching something else, but this is by far more important. It is once again a failure on the part of the media for downplaying this story; according to the story, we've found 500 tons of uranium at a nuclear weapons development plant in al Tuwaitha.

180 tons of this uranium had begun the process of enriching, and to give you a perspective on how much this is: "The U.S. Energy Department considered that stockpile so dangerous that it mounted an unprecedented airlift operation four months ago to remove the enriched uranium stash from al Tuwaitha."

And to give you a perspective of how much 500 tons of uranium is, it's enough to build 142 nuclear weapons. Saddam was re-organizing his scientists, and bringing new ones in, he was running experiments again (this is all after the first Gulf War), some experiments were the same as the ones before the Gulf War.

If you don't call this an imminent threat, the only thing that would be a threat, would be a missile on it's way to the U.S. capital.

If you have any document that disproves this, I would like to see it. I looked many places to check the validity and I couldn't find anything against it; I don't think the media could over-look something this big.

If there's one thing I extremely dislike (I'm sorry that's a euphemism, i mean HATE), it has to be Emo Punk as well as other kinds of punk music. Let me reiterate that, I love punk music, I am a conservative punk, if you will. However, emo punk in particular, makes it cool to hate America. You can see from the website I posted just how rediculous some of these people can be.

Green Day (which used to be good) has a new song, American idiot. It seems like all these bands do is bitch (to use the politically correct term) about how 'evil' America is, or how 'evil' and unjust the American legal system is, or the big corporations, or pretty much ANYTHING.

There are so many things that annoy me about this, first of all, for an unexplained reason, they all turn liberal. Apparently only the people on the Right side of America are corrupt, i guess. In addition, you get the feel by listening to this music that somehow America is being more corrupt and self serving than all the other 200 some countries that inhabit this planet to serve themselves. That is the nature of human beings! That is why capitalism is the best purpose, and why it has flourished on this great world of ours, because humans are inherently self serving. This is not to say that all humans are these selfish pigs whom wish to dominate the world for themselves, rather that the humankind, taken as a whole, is generally self serving.

Punk never suggests an alternative either. To me, it's uneducated people making uneducated claims. Normally I wouldn't care, but because I listen to this music myself, I have many punk friends, and because millions of Americans listen to this music, I like to try to set the record straight. None of the countries in the EU were trying to stop America from attacking Iraq because they believed it was morally wrong (despite that's what they were claiming), instead they were advocating that because they would benefit themselves by stopping us. That is the major reason I think Bush was noble in not listening to the UN.

Again, countries are not incapable of noble acts. Countries and humans alike can commit acts of pure thought and deed (although not completely pure). I just don't think America is committing any worse 'atrocities' than any other nation, and in addition I fail to see how Bush is as hated as a President as he is. Bush has done nothing except for failing to listen to Europe's opinion and instead acting for themselves but while doing so saving an unbelievable amount of Iraqi's lives. On an earlier post I get into an argument about why we're not going to Darfur and instead Iraq, and the answer is because Iraq was a more popular country to act and was in America's interests while being consistent with helping the people there from a murdering, oppressive dictator who enjoyed torturing people. If you don't believe me, watch the History Channel special on Saddam's torture techniques.

Punk takes all this, throws it to the ground, and complains viciously how evil a country we are. How we're all gonna die, how Bush is somehow evil (no one can explain that), or how some right winger is involved in a conspiracy to make money. They never mention the evil acts of other countries, and that makes their points lose perspective, and when things lose perspective, they lose any and all truth that was hidden within them.

Ten Commandments

It sure tells you a lot about liberals when you see how repulsed they are when they see the ten commandments. They are a set of moral guidlines that make you a better person if you follow them. Muslims basically believe in the ten commandments certainly Jews do too. If a Hindu, Buddist, or someone of most other religions looked at them, I don't think any of them would say "That's completely bogus,"(or something along those lines); even an Atheist or someone with a small amount of common sense could see that they aren't a bad thing. Can anyone out there honestly tell me that the ten commandments are completely wrong and shouldn't be displayed in a public place? And if you can, then take into account that when they are displayed, they seem to be symbolic of doing the right thing and living a good life, so the first commandment, I would say, doesn't really hurt anybody in that case.

You'd Think Professors Would Be Smart

But these outspoken extreme professors are crazy. It seems like every other week we have a professor publicly slandering (or liabling) America, or supporting the terrorists instead of the country that he lives in.

Shahid Alam is one such professor. I quote him talking about the 9-11 hijackers as saying: "They died so that their people might live, free and in dignity." WHAT! Free? Like the freedom that Islamofascist governments provides? Dignity, like the suppression of their women? I don't know what is going on in these Universities, but whatever it is, it seems a lot like propaganda to me.

He also says that the hijackers were similar to the American colonists, but common sense tells me that I don't have to explain why I think that statement is out of line.

Their hate mail section is really quite pathetic, the person who runs this site really needs to learn how to debate, not just call people names. The person ansering the e-mails had a very tough time rebuking the arguements, so it seems he decided to just call people stupid and other names. I urge you to e-mail this site and tell them what you think, but be careful, they will give out any information on their site that they can find out about you.

I don't care if you dislike FOX news, but why anyone would buy or sell a FOXblocker is beyond me, if you think FOX news is to close to the center for your left wing views, then just don't watch it. We Need Help

Over at MSNBC, they go above and beyond when they say, "U.S. found no evidence WMD moved from Iraq". Not only do they title the article that, but then in the first paragraph, they report:

"Top Bush administration officials speculated publicly that the banned armaments may have been smuggled out of the country before the war started."

Then they go on to say:

"Officials say they have not seen any information — never “a piece,” said one — indicating that WMD or significant amounts of components and equipment were transferred from Iraq to neighboring Syria, Jordan or elsewhere."

The only problem with saying that is that there were satillite pictures submitted to the U.N. (that failed organization) that showed large trucks transporting something into Syria. But for some reason the U.N. didn't accept them. (And how come the media didn't jump all over those pictures, like they did on the Abu Graib videos?). Even a man who lived on the border of Iraq and Syria said that in the days before the war, many large vehicles rumbled by, heading toward Syria.

And then there is this. I guess there was really no evidence, not a piece.

Logical Proof Bush Didn't Knowingly Lie

Alright, this isn't actual proof, but rather, like most proof, it is simply using logic to show that only one answer is possible. So, let me tell you a story to explain it best. We have president Bush leading our country in his war on terror and we just made the world drop their jaw in our almost perfect attack on Afghanistan that lasted only 6 weeks while the Russians took some 10 years and didn't even finish. Your approval rating is in the 80-90% column and you have the potential to do so much. Osama wasn't caught, but you feel that the rest of the time spent their will be rebuilding and the majority of our attacks have ended or will end soon. What do you do next?

Do any of you honestly think Bush chose the option: "Invade Iraq on false pretenses because you can make the Americans think what they want and then say 'oh, that's what I thought." As opposed to: "Invade Iraq because Saddam very likely has WMD, supports terrorism, and has been killing millions of innocent people in Iraq and Iran for the past 40 years, not to mention is likely to continue to be aggressive and kill MORE people?"

One of these options will make you more popular, and one of them less, can you guess which one is which? I'll give you a hint, despite choosing the latter option, it didn't make much of a difference because a lot of Americans thought that he chose the former. But would Bush, or for that matter the Republican party, risk losing an unlosable election so that they could attack Iraq?

Despite stretching the truth on nuclear weapons and the chances of having one soon (very little), the Bush Administration believed that Iraq had WMD otherwise it would have cost them too much Political Capital and they would not have done it because it would have made him immensly unpopular should no Weapons of Mass Destruction turn up (which it did).

There were many documents cited showing how our intelligence believed he still had them, Bush did not know that Saddam had ridden himself of them, and instead thought he was lying (as Saddam had many, many times ago in the past). Therefore, stop calling Bush a liar on the Weapons of Mass Destruction, he would not have knowingly destroyed his chances of reelection in such a manner.

An article from AP is accusing Bush for spending too much on his inauguration, even though it is completely from private donations. People have been saying that we could use that kind of money for more useful things, but you can't change what you are doing with the money now; the money was donated for the inauguration. I think it is very ironic when the left criticizes Republicans of creating fear to sway how people think, considering they do just that when talking about environmental issues. I hear that SUV's will be the human races' demise. That is ridiculous. SUV's causing global warming, no way. In the prehistoric times, when there were palm trees growing in Antarctica, I'm sure you saw many dinosaurs driving their big SUV's around, polluting the air. The bottom line is the earth goes through phases, it gets incredibly hot, then it gets extremely cold, and it also goes to the middle; that's where we are now. Maybe some things humans do speed up global warming, but there's no proof, and the fix wouldn't be to just stop using fossil fuels and recycle. Plus, to advance past the point of polluting with fossil fuels, we will need to use the technology that fossil fuels offer, otherwise, we will be stuck in the stone age.

In general though, I hate arguing "Liberal vs. Conservative" kind of stuff, simply because I don't believe Conservatives are 100% correct or Liberals are 100% correct, I think it depends entirely on the issue. I hate statements like "Liberals are stupid" or something like that, although I admit I occasionally (not often) make them.

This was a rather long post but I get annoyed when stupid people (Liberals and Conservatives) say stuff like "Bush is Hitler" or "Bush is just a cowboy" or "Liberals are stupid" or something like that, I really wish people actually knew why they were saying things. I have heard no arguments about why Bush is either a morally bad person, is like Hitler, or is a bad president other than being unable to speak properly occasionally (Ok, all the time!).

The President said that he regretted using blunt phrases like "Bring 'em on", and "Dead or alive", but I don't think he should be. When talking about/to terrorists, I think you should let them know who is in charge, let them know you mean business. That is one of the pros to the Iraq war, it let other countries know that America is serious. Qadhafi heard our message and said that libya would stop it's quest for WMD's.

On the other hand, though, maybe the reason he said he'll try to not say things like that in his second term is because he thinks that he doesn't have to. America has shown that it means business, the message is already out there. Whatever the case, I think that America needed another "cowboy."

Less Than Perfect Iraqi Vote

I think this vote of the Iraqi's is a great thing, and I hope that no one (other than terrorists) disagree with me. But why all the complaining? Didn't the liberals complain when we appointed a Prime Minister to Iraq, and now they complain that the Iraqi's get a vote that isn't perfect. It's better than none, by their own argument. I suppose I should be used to the hypocrisy coming from the left by now, but it never ceases to amaze me. The simplest things seem to just slip by them. I guess they are above that common sense thing, NOT!

The sooner we get the Iraqis' in power, the sooner we can remove our military, and isn't that also something the left wants? Plus, there will be three more votes this year.

A True Case of Discrimination

As some of my closer friends know, I am a member of a minority that is one of the most oppressed groups in the world. It's true, I am left handed. Every day I go to the school that's supposed to be unbiased and sit in desks made for righthanded people. I cut with scissors and I use pencil holders that only work for the "majority." I smear the ink when I'm writing an assignment.

This is but a mere shadow of the true horrors millions of Americans must face for being what they are. People question me and ask me if I'm "a lefty", sometimes calling me a weirdo. They tell me I can't play the base I want in baseball, 3rd. I must shake hands with my right hand because I've been conditioned to do so by society, instead of using the hand that's right for me.

When I buy notebooks I must go to a special store that has left handed ones, and if I use right handed notebooks it causes pains in my hand. The mouse I click, the shifter in the car, the trombone I play, the 'right' hand over your heart or on the bible, the design of golf courses, even the way silverware is set at a table, are all different forms of discrimination. Currently, with all of the other groups pursuing their own agenda, there's no arguments for lefthanders. No political movements, no protests, no letters to congressmen.

If any of you have any heart at all you will stand outside every place you can and continue arguing for 1/10 of the population to have equal rights. The schools are the worst and are the best place to start, the left handers will not stop until we have secured the right to use our own hand in everything we do, the left hand.

I know that everyone reading this will be persistant, and will never stop protesting. Even when the majority of this beloved democracy disagrees with us, we will not stop. Even when other members of our very group think we are doing wrong, we will not stop. We will give massive amounts of campaign contributions, and use our small voice to sway the entire nation to a law favorable to us by contributing to our politician. This is the way of making our voice heard, by making our voices weigh more than that of the other 280 million Americans. This is our way of making what we believe to be right get done in a society that doesn't want it to be done. We are the special interest group.

Lies?

When President Bush invaded Iraq citing that they have WMD capabilities, every piece of domestic and foreign intelligence at the time, backed up this claim. Why then, now, do anti-Bush people say that President Bush lied to the American public, and misled the American public. I often hear or see the line "When Clinton lied, no one died," or "Bush lied, children died." I don't understand it; he didn't lie, he didn't mislead, and he didn't pressure the intelligence people to say what he wanted to hear. Even if he did, which I doubt, he couldn't have pressured every other country's intelligence. Indeed, the French also thought there were WMD's.

If you are a liberal, can you please comment and defend your position on this; I really don't understand your reasoning. I know most of you liberals don't agree with this war for other reasons too, but I beg you to comment on why you support this line of thinking. The other reasons are for another post, at another time. In fact, we have two past posts that address some of the other issues (The first one is here, the second is here).

'Florida Rolf'

Rolf John is a German citizen who claimed that living in Germany made him depressed, so he moved to Florida. Apperently Germany has welfare coverage for people who are 'depressed' and the German government gave Mr. John $2,2oo a month; that encompassed $875 for his Miami Beach House!

Recently, the government of Germany decided to remove his benefits and he was forced to move back to germany. The government is finally considering revamping it's welfare laws; they should have done this years ago considering unemployment rates are through the roof.

Inadvertently, Rolf John may have helped Germany finally reform it's welfare laws, which was much needed.

A few posts ago, I asked anyone if they could tell me where this poll was and it was found at Iraq the Model, here it is:

Gun Control

Why do liberals think so strongly that if you make it illegal to have a gun, there will be less violent crimes? It's ridiculous, that would just mean that all of the good law abiding citizens would not have a gun for protection. The people who commit crimes are still going to be able to get guns. Once we have nothing to protect us with, we will just have to give the burgler, rapeist, or murder what he wants, and that would be retarded.

In Camden, New Jersey, a robber walked into a store and held one of the shop owners at knife point saying "I'm going to kill you, I'm going to kill you." It turns out that he had just raped three other women in the town. When the other owner, her husband, came out of the bathroom, he had a gun and told the robber to take anything he wanted, but leave his wife. Of course he wanted the wife, and after following the robber into another room, he shot the robber in the head, and his wife was safe.

This story really gives a testament to the useful protection, and crime enforcement, that letting citizens have guns can have. How can someone argue that we should take away guns from everybody. If this man didn't have a gun, his wife most likely would have ended up raped and killed.

There are many other arguments and situations for gun control, this is only one. I thought that these two facts are very interesting ones: Every 13 seconds an American firearm owner uses a firearm in defense against a criminal. 4915832 Criminal attacks stopped by the use of a firearm since January 1, 2004.

That's why all of my posts were after 10. The last two days I've been out of town for sports and there was no internet to post with.

The terrorists in Iraq are getting more and more desperate with the thought of the election almost here. Today, seven U.S. soldiers were killed due to a roadside bomb. The people of Iraq are itching to vote says a poll I saw yesterday (I wish I could remember where it was, but I can't, if any of you can find this poll, please post a comment saying where it is), more than half of the Iraqis plan to vote no matter what, even with all the violence.

With each passing day the election gets closer, and with that, the terrorist are going to step up their attacks. This is a very sad truth, but there is not too much we can do right now. We can keep training Iraqi soldiers and police, and eventually, we will kill or capture all of these terrorists. We just need to keep pushing along.

Deserting Marine Disappears

The marine, Wassef Ali Hassoun, has been charged with desertion, he was due back from his leave on Tuesday, but he never showed up. His family claims that they don't know where he is.

Bidding Contest

Read it all on CNN folks, they've got the latest news.
I'm kind of sick how this tsunami disaster in Sri Lanka and the far east is being turned into a bidding contest by countries. But before I continue I wish to make my views perfectly clear.

I believe that this money is a good thing and is definetly needed for the people who were hit with the tidal wave. I think that as long as money's getting there, it's a good thing.

What I am sick of, however, is how the media and other countries are making it look like the US is not being generous by donating $350 million. Furthermore, I'm tired of how political this has gotten by the CNN journal trying to say how evil the US is because they've only donated $350 and they should've given more like good 'ole Norway. I'm sorry but I can't stand trivializing an event like this by showing off how much money we can throw their way, there is a cap on how much the funds will help and i don't think they need every single country to be donating $3 billion.
This journalist especially does exactly what I am talking about by giving how much each nation is giving per capita, or how "generous" each nation is based on what they "should" give. Naturally in her figure she omits private donations, because for some reason US corporations giving hundreds of millions of dollars shouldn't count. This further skews the data by trying to make the United States, and probably more importantly (for them), George Bush, to look like greedy people who only wish to help ourselves.
The complaints against George Bush are really getting ridiculous. If CNN and the UN needs to turn this into a bidding contest to find the most generous nation then they have reached a new low, and no longer would these countries be giving to help the people, they'd only be giving to suck up to the UN and make themselves look good. So please, remember that these people are suffering rather than just throwing money at the problem.

'Under God' Attacked Yet Again

A man in San Fransico is sueing for having the pledge having 'Under God' in it, for his second time! These lawsuits are ridiculous. Stuff like this is making freedom of religion into freedom of no religion.

"He did not want his young daughter exposed to the words 'under God'"

What, is he that afraid she might start to believe in it? There are many arguments people use to defend taking out 'Under God', but this is the worst. I don't want her exposed to it? That's bogus.

Everything the U.S. is founded on is based on Judeo-Christian values. This doesn't mean that you have to be Jewish or Christian, or anything, to appreciate and agree with the values that have brought our law to this great nation.

That is a very simple and widely used argument; I'm not afraid to use it because it is the absolute truth and Judeo-Christian values are the roots of modern law.

Nukes in Egypt

Now it seems as if everyone is trying to get nuclear capabilities. The IAEA has now accused Eg ypt of trying to get nuclear weapons. "International Atomic Energy Agency also was looking at evidence suggesting some work was performed as recently as a year ago."

Although, to me, the claims seem a tad bit shaky. Some diplomat that talked about specifics requested to remain anonymous. Those of you who have read my blog for a while may know anonymity really peeves me; the credentials are shot when they remain secret. But since the IAEA backs them up, it add some credibility to this claim. We'll have to pay close attention to this story, whether we want to or not.

Silly Law Suits

I think unneeded law suits are one of the biggest problems in America currently. Thank God that many states are seeing the light that the only things people can blaim for their obesity is themselves! If people make the choice to eat the restaurants food, that's there fault, not the restaurants.

This is from an article from CNN
"At least two more states approved measures to protect the restaurants and fast-food chains that serve up fattening food from being sued. Illinois and Missouri joined at least 10 other states to outlaw such litigation. Their message: People make people fat, not restaurants."

Eventually I hope that all 50 will have similar legislation, and furthermore I'm hoping for a lawsuit reform that takes away the silly lawsuits that are plaguing America.

A Free Market Economy

Today at my church, the priest was giving a homily, and he started to talk about the Tsunami. This particular priest has a tendancy to streach real far to push a subliminal liberal agenda; once he said that word, tsunami, I knew I was going to be in for a bumpy ride.

He made a comment somewhere along the lines of individual contributions embarassing our (American) government's contributions for helping victims of the tsunami. For one thing, our government has given more than any other government (monetary, food and people). Second, we have a free market economy, so that means private donations are supposed to overshadow government donations. America gives so much more because it allows people to feel free to give money of their own, privately, because the government isn't taking a ton and deciding how much you should give.

Thus far I haven't posted on the tsunami issue only because every single blog is and it is on TV 24/7. It is a big issue, and you can't have people playing down what we do for the world, like so many people nowdays.
