A Bad Day For Liberals

With the huge success of the Iraqi elections, do you think that any of the democratic leadership is happy? I wouldn't bet on it. The huge voter turnout from every group in Iraq shows that George Bush's plan was a success. The exit strategy is success; the left has continuously been saying that we need a plan, but it is kind of hard to have a plan when fighting terrorists. They are unpredictable, we have to adapt and keep pushing along, which is exactly what we have done.

This is precisely the reason we are winning this war. This is the reason Baghdad's Mayor, Ali Fadel, said yesterday, "We will build a statue for Bush. He is the symbol of freedom." This is the reason the Iraqis are so happy, they have had huge parties, some still going, about the election, and they don't even know if the person they voted for won, they are partying because of the opportunity to vote.

Everything the President and our troops have been working for is finally coming true. The day that the Iraq Government can say, "Thanks, but we can handle it from here," is the day that we pull our troops out.

If we had an exit strategy and left before we things were stable, do you think the Iraqis would still be free, months or years after? Again, I wouldn't bet on it.

Fighting for truth, justice, and the capitalistic way

Hey, young'en

It looks like almost everyone of them Dem-wit-o-crats has caught this syndrome.

I hear-tell, there is no cure (other than the one mentioned).

Zachary,

I still stand by what I say, "the democratic leadership" isn't happy. Ted Kennedy and John Kerry are still stuck on saying that it is a failure and a quagmire. Their jobs depend on them being right, so politians have a tough time admiting they're wrong.

I hope there is a difference between democratic leadership and the average democrat, and it looks like there is, at least in your case.

Notice, I read things carefully before insulting people, maybe you should work on that.

I don't apreciate insults, especially when the person puts words into my mouth. I think carefully about everything that I say, please don't make up something I didn't say.

Hey Young'en,

Insults are like rain drops, either you ignore them or let them get you wet. Its your choice.

Another tid-bit...Life ain't fair, I am sure you have heard that.

One thing I have learned in my long life is that if you don't want to get dirty, don't get in the fight.

Zachary;

You are way off the track all of a sudden. That also is the reason it has become a reason to not respond to your commentary, as it's more a diatribe of statements with no foundation in fact, rather than any intelligent discourse on what your plan would be, or how you might draw upon history and human behavior to solve a problem. Do you have any cogent ideas?

"I was referring to the right-wing extremists of your party who wish to deny homosexuals the very rights that we've so graciously given the Iraqis."

Are you saying the right wing extremist have passed laws denying gays in the US the right to vote? It is woefully inadequate remarks like this that make you appear as a person of little understanding of life as it really is happening around you. If gays can't vote, I'd appreciate a link to your source, so I can be informed about current affairs as you are. If you can't provide a link, I think you need to pick up a real newspaper and get involved in reality.

I'll admit you may be able to possibly find a statement by someone claiming to be a Republican and a Christian that says gays shouldn't vote. I'll respond in advance: one vote does not a majority make in this land. I'll also say if that person claims to be a Christian (i make that remark, because "right wing extremeists" is a euphamism for Christians), I'll bet you could do a cursory study of the Bible and quickly find they lack the basic understanding of God and Jesus at anything other than a superficial level. If you find them, I'd find it proper for you to refer them back to their own "source" and tell them to get their facts straight.

As far as you statement on insulting this blog's author, I think you intended to, supported by your own remarks:

"Alas, I was not insulting you. At least, it wasn't intended to insult you."

"I surely hope you're not a part of this group. But if you are, the insult still stands."

If you didn't want to insult him, why did you turn right around an do it anyhow? You must have felt he was "part of that group" to say it in the first place.

I do read your comments, more as a point of reference to see how convoluted the human mind can get, when it's unfettered by truth.

I actually would like to prod you, by this line of my comments, into engaging your God given mind when you decide to enter a discussion, here, or in your world. You don't seem to type anything other than attacks on what is. What's your plan to handle gay marriage? What long and short term inplication are there to our society, financially, emotionally, in terms of impact on business if this is allowed, and the anaylsis of if it's not allowed? Do we win or lose as a nation? How about the loss of the White House and Congress by the Democrats? If they had it back, what would you like to see them do, and why? How about global warming, or the Social Security finacial problems? Do you have a way to solve them? Do you know someone who can? Is that person someone you would support because you believe in them? How would you propose we should have responded to 9/11 or any terrorist attacks? Is the Patriot Act, and it's amendments having an impact on your life? Is it making life better for you or your neighbors, or the people who protect you on a 24/7/365 basis? Does the UN have any relevancy in this day and age, or has it gone the way of the League of Nation? Why is it important that you support the troops? What benefit does it have, or not have to you personally? Defend your answers with some sources that anyone willing to debate with you might be able to check. In the meantime, look up the meaning of debate.

Who knows, when you can bring some things to the discussion we can read and analyze ourselves, and we maybe can see you have some valid points. We might even change our minds, if it makes sense.

Do I mean to insult you? No, if I did, this comment would have been full of condescending language, and pointed personal attacks, clearly stated. I'd just like to see people agree or agree to disagree, without someone acting like a sore loser, with no concept of how to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and getting back in the competition, after brushing off the dust. That's what people do, that's how people succeed.

Have you considered a blog where you can share your thoughts?
